Overview

Players are in Jedi training school. Their lightsabers don’t kill but instead stun. If someone gets stunned they can be eliminated by someone touching them. Players attempt to hit each other with foam swords with their eyes closed.

Rules summary

  • Players spread out each holding a foam sword.
  • They close their eyes and take two steps.
  • They stab their sword trying to hit and “stun” an opponent.
  • Everyone opens their eyes.
  • Anyone who is hit raises their hand and it's checked to see if anyone can reach them to eliminate them.
  • The round begins again with the players who haven’t been eliminated.

Gameplay

Setup

  • Give each player a foam sword and ask them to spread out.

Stages

Main Steps

  1. The explainer says “close your eyes”
  2. “Take two steps” one foot at a time, “one and…..two”. Players will now move around, duck etc.
  3. “Stab”
  4. “Open your eyes”
  5. Anyone who has been hit and “stunned” raises their hand.
  6. The adjudicator checks to see if anyone can reach and eliminate the stunned player.
  7. Those players are eliminated.
  8. Everyone else is told to drop their swords to their sides.
  9. Go to step one.

All players must stand still apart from when taking steps and stabbing.

Victory

The final player remaining wins.

Variants

  • A version with a sweeping motion was tried but that was much harder.
