What is Ludocity?

Ludocity is a public information wiki resource for pervasive games and related activities, where anyone can write up a game, print out someone else's game, organise a gaming event, or comment, report or collaborate on the games they're interested in.

What is a wiki?

A wiki is a web site that anyone can edit. Each page has an "Edit" link, which opens up an editable text version of that page (with simple markup to indicate bold, italics, headers and things). Users can make any changes they want to, and then click "Save Page" to have those changes applied immediately. (There's a permanent history of each page, so we can undo any mistakes.)

How do I edit a page?

Ludocity requires that you create an account before you start editing.

Once you've created an account, just click the "Edit" link on any page. You'll see a simple text version of that page, which you can edit like any other text window.

To add italics, links, titles and other effects, you can either use the coloured buttons along the top of the edit window, or type the markup directly (see Help:Editing for a list of valid wiki markup).

If you want to play around with editing to get a feel for how it works, feel free to edit the Sandbox article as much as you like.

How do I create a page?

In your browser's URL bar, enter the URL where you would want your page to go (if you wanted to start writing up a game called "Monkey Tennis", you'd go to http://ludocity.org/index.php/Monkey Tennis), and you'll be told that:-

"There is currently no text in this page, you can search for this page title in other pages or create this page."

Click "create this page" to get an edit window, and start writing.

How do I create a game page?

See the "creating a game" page for full details.
